High Availability Services

To best meet business requirements for availability, flexibility and scalability, there are a variety of hardware and software solutions. Software provides a robust architecture that combines multiple computers into an enterprise cluster. Hardware redundancy eliminates single points of failure with CPUs, NICs and disks. Utilizing these offerings, the nodes in the cluster cooperate to enable outstanding levels of availability and flexibility for supporting mission-critical applications to LAN attached clients.

The clustering software, HP’s Multi-Computer/Serviceguard (MC/Serviceguard) is designed to protect mission-critical applications from a wide variety of hardware and software failures. Different types of clusters are supported, from local, to campus, to Metro to Continental.

Our consultants have many years of design and implementation experience with HP’s high availability clustering solutions. Tools like disk mirroring, alternate fiber disk links, local NIC failover, and integrated hardware and software monitors can be combined to achieve the required level of high availability. System setup “best practices” are used for HPUX installation, software and patch depots, network configuration, and file system creation to provide a solid foundation for the cluster.
